FESTIVAL REBRAND
OVERVIEW
This project involved a complete rebrand of Arizona Matsuri, a longstanding Japanese cultural festival. The objective was to modernize the visual identity and strengthen its promotional reach while preserving the festival’s rich cultural heritage. The rebrand aimed to enhance community engagement and attract a broader, more diverse audience by creating a refreshed image that honored tradition with a contemporary edge.
ABOUT THE BRAND
Arizona Matsuri is an annual festival celebrating Japanese culture, held in Phoenix, Arizona. Established in 1984, the event showcases traditional and contemporary Japanese arts, food, music, and cultural performances. As one of the largest cultural festivals in the region, Arizona Matsuri serves as a vibrant platform for cross-cultural exchange, education, and community celebration. The festival is supported by local Japanese-American organizations, volunteers, and cultural institutions, drawing thousands of visitors each year who seek to engage with and learn about Japanese heritage.

SOLUTION
Brand Identity System
A comprehensive new brand identity was developed, including logos, color palettes, typography, and visual motifs inspired by Japanese aesthetics. The updated identity offered visual consistency across all platforms while maintaining a respectful nod to traditional Japanese art and design.
